Week 1
Aims:
1. The course will concentrate on the many ways in which teaching is done in primary and secondary schools in Brunei Darussalam.
2. To explore the complex relationships between pupils, teachers and the school as well the curriculum.
3. To examine the strengths and weaknesses of the system of class teaching as applied to primary and secondary education.
Assessment:
1. Coursework - 40%
- Presentation + Report (20%) - Group in pair
- Review of Literature (20%) - Individual
2. Examination - 60%
- Short answer and essay type of questions
Assignments:
1st Assignment
- Weekly Presentation - Choose 1 issue on primary/secondary and physical education that interest you.
- During presentation, discuss your issue with examples in Brunei or other context. Articles/Journal/Theory can be included as an evidence/reference to support the explanation.
- Presentation will be in 25 - 30 minutes and 10 minute for Q&A (During Tutorial)
- Report on presentation need to be submit on the following week during tutorial.
2nd Assignment
- Write 1 literature review on any of these topics:
1. Problem Based Learning (PBL)
2. Classroom Management
3. School Improvement
4. Teacher Effectiveness
- Include at least 5 references.
- 2000 words (8 - 9 Pages)
